Maintain and monitor wind farm civil assets

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to condition, monitor and conduct preventative and remedial maintenance to ensure the integrity of civil assets associated with a wind farm.
Civil assets include infrastructuresuch as water treatment facilities, sewer pipelines, roads, utility grids, bridges, tunnels and railways. Maintenance involves the use of strategies and procedures to preserve and extend the service life of civil asset infrastructure at a wind farm.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan work, disassemble wind turbine, inspect wind turbine components, repair wind turbine and/or components and report on all completed work tasks. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision in a maintenance operative in a power generation facility.
Power generation maintenance personnel are typically trained and authorised to receive permits to work.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit of competency may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace, where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations.
